Folkraft-Europe has, since 1975, cooperated in the organization of international folk dance and folk arts Seminars throughout Europe — from Scandinavia to Iberia and Anatolia. Much more than an academic study tour, each program provides a real folklore "experience."

TRANSYLVANIA, ROMANIA

The "Transylvanian Experience" teaching Seminar (plus scientific Symposium) in Alba Iulia, including visits to villages and dancing with the people there. Programs organized by the International Folk Arts Organization (IOV) of Alba Iulia (Floare Vraciu, President) in collaboration with Folkraft-Europe, under the aegis of the CID-UNESCO. The judeţ (county) of Albia Iulia is one of the richest folklore areas of Transylvania. Among dances planned for this Seminar are: Barbuncul, Brâul, Caluşul, Haidaul, and Ţarina.

EASTERN RUSSIA

The "Siberian Experience" teaching Seminar (plus scientific Congress) in Novosibirsk, plus 6-day CRUISE on the River Ob. Programs organized by the Siberian Center of Choreography (SCC) of Novosibirsk (Natalia Sokovikova, President) in collaboration with Folkraft-Europe, under the aegis of the CID-UNESCO. This is the first such international program ever held in Russia. There are over 100 different ethnic groups in Siberia! The seminar includes dances of the Altaïtsi (Алтайцы), Buryati (Буряты), Khakasi (Хакасы) et Yakuti (Якуты) peoples — plus dances of some other groups.

THE INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIFIC MEETINGS . . .

The "International Meetings" are organized for ethnochoreologists and other folklore specialists who present research papers and related material for discussion.
