PRONUNCIATION: TSAH-ree-nah deh-lah ah-BROOD TRANSLATION: Dust or earth of Abrud SOURCE: Mihai David, formerly with the Romanian State Folk Dance Ensemble during the years 1963 to 1965, taught this dance to folk dancers in the United States. BACKGROUND: Abrud is a mining town in southwestern Transylvania. Winds distribute large amounts of dust (ţarina) from abandoned mine tailing piles, rock blasts, and eroded soil, and deposits it over the ground. MUSIC: The Lark (45rpm) MD-3701, side B, band 2;
