Denver Area Off-Leash Dog Parks

Many off-leash dog parks in the Denver, Colorado area are part of multi-use parks. This means that you must be considerate of others.
This site details fenced dog parks only.
The rules for most parks are:
- All owners must clean up after their dogs.
- All owners must have a leash for each dog.
- All owners must unleash the dog within the park (leashed dogs tend to be defensive).
- All owners use the facility at their own risk.
- All owners assume the legal responsibility for any damage, disease, or injury to persons, other dogs, or property caused by their dog.
- Children under 6 years of age should not be brought to a dog park.
- Children under 12 years of age are not allowed within some dog parks without adult supervision.
- Children must be supervised and accompanied by an adult.
- Dogs in heat are not allowed.
- Dogs must be removed at the first sign of aggression.
- Dogs are not allowed to chase or harass wildlife or other dogs.
- Dogs must be vaccinated and have the vaccination tag attached to the dog's collar; collars and tags are required.
- Dogs too young to be vaccinated against rabies are not allowed.
- Dogs under the age of four months are not allowed.
- Dogs known to be ill or exhibiting signs of illness are not allowed.
- Dogs must be accompanied by an adult (16 or older) at all times.
- Dogs must be under voice command and under control at all times.
- Dogs must be spayed or neutered.
- Don't give your water to other dogs unless they have their own watering bowls.
- Don't give treats to other dogs without permission.
- Don't grab or pick up somebody else's dog without permission.
- Don't bring food into the dog park.
- Pay attention and know where your dog is at all times; owners may not leave their dogs unattended.
- Choke, prong (pinch), and spike collars are usually prohibited and must be removed before entering the dog park.
- Some dog parks are now using their own "compostable bags," NOT plastic grocery or newspaper bags.
- Any other park rules that are posted apply.

- Location: 17975 W. 64th Pkwy., Arvada, CO. Approximately 1/2 mile east of Highway 93, near Foothills Rd., on the north side of 64th, opposite Long Lake Regional Park.

Cherry Creek State Park Dog Park
- Location: 4201 S. Parker Rd., Aurora, CO. At S. Parker Rd. and E. Orchard Rd.; from S. Parker Rd. turn west on Orchard Rd.; driveway to the park is on the right.
- Charge? Admission for people is $8.00; for dogs it is $2.00 per day or $20.00 for a yearly pass (this is over and above any park charge).

- Other: This is a horse riding area, so you must be able to control your dog on command. There is a 500 yard on-leash policy, then you may take off the leash. Stretching for almost a mile, it offers several trails, a huge prairie meadow, a beautiful stream, shady spots under cottonwoods, and numerous access points to the sandy, flat creekbed. Great mountain views.
Grandview Park Dog Park
- Location: 17500 E. Quincy Ave., Aurora, CO. A short block east of Pitkin St. on the right.

- Location: 5440 Sioux Dr., Boulder, CO. East Boulder Community Park, 55th St. and Sioux, south of S. Boulder Rd. Located south of East Boulder Community Center behind the Community Center and south of the tennis courts.

Foothills Community Park Dog Park
- Location: 4598 7th St., Boulder, CO. From Broadway turn west on Violet Ave., then right on on 10th St., left on Cherry Ave., and right on 7th. St. The dog park is at the north end of Foothills Community Park, at the corner of 7th St. and 8th St. where you may park on the street. Otherwise, parking is available on 7th at the entrance to the park.

Valmont Dog Park
- Location: 5275 Valmont Rd., Boulder, CO. In Valmont Community Park, west of Sterling Dr. between Airport Rd. and 55th St. It is just east of the intersection of Airport and Valmont. Park at the large green warehouse.

Happy Tails Dog Park
- Location: 1001 Judicial Center Dr., Brighton, CO. From I-76, exit at E. 152nd Ave. and head west. Turn left onto Judicial Center Dr. and dirve .9 mile to the park.

- Location: 4801 Broomfield City Commons Dr., Broomfield, CO. At Sheridan Blvd. at E. 13th Ave., turn east into Broomfield County Commons Park, follow the road to the circle, go 3/4 of the way around the circle and turn north into the large parking lot. The dog park is on the left at the end of the North Pod of the Broomfield County Commons.

CASTLE ROCK
Meadows Dog Park
- Location: Located within The Meadows neighborhood of Castle Rock, CO, just north of Paintbrush Park at the intersection of Meadows Blvd. and Painthorse Dr. From I-25 take the Founders Parkway/Meadows Parkway Exit; head west on Meadows Parkway past N. U.S. Highway 85 for 1.3 miles which becomes Meadows Boulevard at the intersection; drive 1.8 miles on Meadows Boulevard to the south end of Painthorse Dr. The park is on the right.

- Location: 800 Oak Ln., Castle Rock, CO. From I-25, take the Surrey Ridge exit (190) about three miles south of Lincoln Ave., turn left to the stop sign, and go under the I-25 Freeway. The park is on the right at the arched sign.

Beaver Ranch Bark Park
- Location: 11369 S. Foxton Rd., Conifer, CO. Located in Conifer's James Q. Newton Park at the top of the Tipi Loop Trail. Take the first exit after Staples (Highway 73 exit) off of Highway 285; go under the highway and take S. Foxton Rd. south. Take a right into Beaver Ranch Park and follow the signs .7 mile to the dog park.

LITTLETON
Chatfield State Park Dog Park
- Location: Inside Chatfield State Park (11500 N. Roxborough Park Road). The main entrance to Chatfield is on Wadsworth Blvd ~1 mile south of C-470. Once through the main gate, turn left on Main Park Road and proceed to the backside of the dam. Parking is available in 3 lots. To avoid paying the State Park entrance fee, it is possible to park in the South Platte Reservoir and Park across C470 from Chatfield. Take the bike path tunnel under C-470, take the bridge over the South Platte River, and take a right to the split in the trail (bikers must take the left fork) to the dog off leash area.
- Charge? Admission is $2.00 per day for up to three dogs or $20.00 for an annual pass. This fee is in addition to the $8.00 per day ($70.00 per year) charge to drive onto Chatfield State Park. The $2.00 daily pass is available for purchase at the main gate or at self serve stations in the first two parking lots. The annual pass is only available for purchase at the main gate.

It will also be about a quarter mile longer walk on leash to get to the gate for the fenced area if walking in from off-park.
