Denver, Colorado, Area Off-Leash Dog Parks Previous Page Home Page
Many off-leash areas are part of multi-use parks. This means that you must be considerate of others. This site details fenced dog parks, with the addition of one unfenced area that is so large, your dog cannot get lost and wander out of the park (Chatfield Reservoir Dog Park).
The rules for most parks are:
- All owners must clean up after their dogs.
- All owners must have a leash for each dog.
- All owners must unleash the dog within the park (leashed dogs tend to be defensive).
- All owners use the facility at their own risk.
- All owners assume the legal responsibility for any damage, disease, or injury to persons, other dogs, or property caused by their dog.
- Children under six years of age should not be brought to a dog park.
- Children must be supervised and accompanied by an adult.
- Dogs in heat are not allowed.
- Dogs must be removed at the first sign of aggression.
- Dogs are not allowed to chase or harass wildlife or other dogs.
- Dogs must be vaccinated and have the vaccination tag attached to the dog's collar; collars and tags are required.
- Dogs too young to be vaccinated against rabies are not allowed.
- Dogs under the age of four months are not allowed.
- Dogs known to be ill or exhibiting signs of illness are not allowed.
- Dogs must be accompanied by an adult (16 or older) at all times.
- Dogs must be under voice command and under control at all times.
- Dogs must be spayed or neutered.
- Don't give your water to other dogs unless they have their own watering bowls.
- Don't give treats to other dogs without permission.
- Don't grab or pick up somebody else's dog without permission.
- Don't bring food into the dog park.
- Pay attention and know where your dog is at all times; owners may not leave their dogs unattended.
- Any other park rules that are posted apply.
